A NONprofit for Archaeology

"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without Roots" - Marcus Garvey

Our Mission

Excavation Nations is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the discovery of human culture and artifacts through archaeology, with a specific focus on inspiring youth across all demographics to learn and value the field. By helping interested individuals find beauty in archaeology and navigate their learning, we hope to make this field more accessible and build a grander appreciation for our sophisticated past.

Our beginning

Founder's Message

While I have always had an innate interest in the story of life on Earth, learning about history in school really gave me a deeper appreciation for the context of the world in which we live. Immersed in this field and the sciences behind it, I eagerly began to pursue concepts in the class, eventually discovering archaeology. Not only did archaeology provide me with a perfect blend of both humanities and technical sciences that I’ve also loved, but it allowed me to more purposefully understand our history.

Since my first experiences with archaeology, I have immersed myself in various projects, from analyzing extinction patterns in paleozoic fossils to 3d modeling historical artifacts, to creating EN-Cast where archaeologists share real world experiences and advice with viewers. I hope to use Excavation Nations to encourage the spread of archaeological materials among as many interested individuals as possible.

With this work, we are all given an opportunity to realize this remarkable story as a community. With each project begun, artifact excavated, or site established, we receive further insight into the contexts of our lives; This is a cause and a mission that applies to us all as humans.

Our fundamental ambition is to increase archaeology’s accessibility to all and leave any visitor with a better understanding and reverence for their past, regardless of demographics.

WHAT WE DO

Excavation Nations is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to celebrating history, archaeology, and paleontology especially among youth. The main proponent of our organization is our website, where we try our best to promote and share as many engaging materials as we can that reflect the beauty of all of history’s subfields. This includes the official Excavation Nations Instagramblog, and photo gallery. We handpick notable resources and visuals from outside Excavation Nations as well in our easy-to-use resources section. Through this easily available resource as well as an upcoming book on how to join the field, we hope to bring less involved demographics to archaeology. Part of our goals also are ensuring that Excavation Nations remains open to public interaction and opinion. We hope to base future materials also off the opinions and wants of anyone through our contact form below. Feel free also to email info@excavationnations.org
